Your information, explained

Privacy policy

Last updated October 25, 2026

Rerise is designed to keep personal reflections on your device. This policy explains what stays there, what is sent when you choose online features, and how to make a privacy request.

Who is responsibleInformation we handleService providersCommunity moderationYour rights

1. Who is responsible

Controller: Vianney Le Masson, the developer identified on the App Store. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact support@tryrerise.app.

This policy covers the Rerise iOS app and this website. Rerise is intended for adults. Because Rerise is about personal habits, we treat what you share with extra care and collect as little as we can.

2. Information we handle

Information stored on your iPhone

Rerise saves your optional onboarding responses, chosen name, check-ins, reflections, lesson progress, urge and setback records, and Screen Time filter settings on your device. These records are used to personalize and display your program. The app’s analytics events do not include your onboarding answers, check-in answers, or free-text reflections.

If you enable the optional Screen Time filter, Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks use your selected app, category, and website tokens to apply the restrictions you choose on your device. Rerise stores that selection locally. The app does not upload your browsing history or read a list of your Screen Time activity.

Camera

During an urge exercise, Rerise can show a live preview of your front camera, like a mirror. This only happens if you allow camera access, and you can change that in iOS Settings at any time. The preview is displayed on screen only. Nothing is recorded, saved, or sent anywhere.

Limited app analytics

Rerise sends PostHog and Postback a random app installation identifier and explicit events such as onboarding screen views, lesson completion, which kind of urge tool was used, whether the optional “did this help?” response was yes/little/not today/skipped, the check-in prompt ID (not your answer), focus exercise completion, filter on/off, and paywall events. Some event names can suggest that someone is using a habit-change app. Event properties are limited to predefined labels and numbers. Rerise does not send onboarding answers, check-in answers, or free-text reflections, and does not use PostHog autocapture or session replay.

Optional community and notifications

If you use the community, the community service receives your random installation identifier, your optional first name, post or reply text, post type and topic, and related timestamps. It also stores actions such as reports, blocks, and “helped” marks. Your first name appears with your posts and replies. If you enable notifications, an Apple push token is sent to the community service so it can deliver reply notifications.

The community is text only and has no direct messages. Do not include details in a post that you do not want other members to see. Your private notes are never shared. Posts must follow our community guidelines, and we may review reported content to enforce them (see section 5).

Tracking permission

Early in onboarding, Rerise asks for App Tracking Transparency permission. If you choose “Allow,” our attribution provider (Postback) may use your device’s advertising identifier to measure which ads brought you to the app. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track,” the advertising identifier is not used. This never includes your answers, notes, or reflections, and you can change your choice anytime in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. We do not sell your personal information.

Purchases

Apple processes App Store payments. Rerise uses Superwall to display and manage paywalls and subscription entitlement state, and RevenueCat to read subscription status from the App Store for reporting. These providers may receive app and device identifiers, paywall interaction, and purchase or transaction information needed for this purpose. Rerise does not receive your full payment card number from Apple.

This website and contact form

The website does not use advertising cookies or analytics scripts. The contact form opens your email application with the name, email address, and message you entered, addressed to our support email. The website itself does not transmit or store the form contents. Your email provider will handle the message once you send it. The website host may process ordinary technical request data, such as IP address, browser details, and request time, to deliver and secure the pages.

3. Service providers

We use the following providers for specific app functions. Each provider processes information under its own privacy and security terms.

PostHog Product analytics

Receives a random installation identifier and the limited event data described above to help us understand feature use and app reliability. The app is configured to use PostHog’s EU capture endpoint. No answers or free-text reflections are sent.

Superwall Paywalls and subscriptions

Supports paywall presentation, purchase flows, and entitlement status. It may process device and app identifiers, paywall interactions, and transaction information. App Store payment details are handled by Apple.

RevenueCat Subscription reporting

Observes App Store purchases for subscription reporting. It does not make purchases. It may process app and device identifiers and transaction information.

Cloudflare Workers and D1 Community service

Hosts the optional text community and its database. It processes the installation identifier, optional first name, community posts and replies, moderation actions, timestamps, and notification token when you enable notifications. Cloudflare may also process network request data for security and delivery.

Postback Attribution and event analytics

The app initializes Postback with its iOS SDK key and sends a random installation identifier plus explicit onboarding and product events. Postback may also process attribution context, device identifiers, and technical request data to measure acquisition and app activity. No onboarding answers or free-text reflections are sent.

Apple iOS, Screen Time, notifications, payments

Apple provides the App Store, StoreKit, Family Controls and Screen Time frameworks, and Apple Push Notification service. Apple processes information under its own terms when you download the app, authorize Screen Time, make a purchase, or enable notifications.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not send onboarding answers, check-in answers, or private reflections to analytics providers. Community posts are shared with other community members when you submit them.

4. Why we use information

We use information to provide the features you request, keep your progress on your device, operate the community and notifications you choose, process subscriptions, protect services from misuse, and understand broad product usage through limited analytics. Where GDPR applies, the legal basis depends on the activity: performing the service you request, our legitimate interests in maintaining and improving a secure app, your consent where required (including device permissions such as camera, notifications, and Screen Time), and legal obligations. We do not use app reflections to make automated decisions about you.

5. Community moderation

To keep the community safe and respectful, members can report posts and block other members. When you report a post, we store which post you reported and your installation identifier, so the same person cannot report it repeatedly. When you block a member, we store that choice so their posts are hidden from you. We may review reported posts and replies, and may hide or remove content or restrict access when it breaks the community guidelines or the terms. Moderation records are kept only as long as needed to run the community safely and meet legal obligations.

6. Retention and security

On-device records remain on your iPhone until you delete them or remove the app. Deleting the app alone does not remove data you previously submitted to the community; use Settings > Your data > Delete all my data first. Community content and related records remain in the service until you request removal or they are removed for moderation, subject to backups, security needs, and legal obligations. Analytics and purchase records are retained according to the providers’ settings and applicable requirements. We do not claim a fixed vendor retention period where our current configuration does not define one.

We use access controls and service-provider safeguards appropriate to these features, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. International processing

Our providers may process information in countries outside your country of residence. Where applicable, we rely on appropriate transfer safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, and apply the protections required by data-protection law. Contact us if you would like information about the safeguards applicable to your request.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information; request a portable copy; and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. To make a request, email support@tryrerise.app. We may ask for information needed to verify your request.

In the app: Settings > Your data lets you export your data and delete everything. This erases your answers, progress, notes and check-ins from your device, and also asks the community service to erase your posts, replies, “helped” marks, reports, blocks, notification token and member record. If the community service cannot be reached, the app tells you and keeps your data so you can try again. Analytics already sent to our providers is not removed by this button; email us and we will help with that request.

You can disable notifications, camera access, tracking, or Screen Time authorization in iOS Settings. You can stop using the community at any time. To request deletion of a community post or account-linked community record, contact us with enough detail to locate it, and do not email sensitive content unnecessarily. Analytics cannot be turned off through an in-app control in the current version; you can contact us to discuss a request.

9. Children and policy changes

Rerise is designed for adults and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review it.

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will change the date above when we publish a revised version.

10. Contact
